Self-Upgrading Skill Builder, running

What it does

TinySkills turns a technical topic into a reusable SKILL.md guide. It discovers documentation, GitHub discussions, Stack Overflow answers, and developer articles, then combines the useful material into one structured reference for a coding agent.

How to use it

  1. 01Enter a specific topic, such as Python pathlib file operations.
  2. 02Choose the source types to include and review the discovered links.
  3. 03Run content extraction, then generate the skill guide.
  4. 04Review the resulting instructions, examples, and source references before adding the guide to your agent.

What you get

A technical guide organized around setup, common workflows, concepts, pitfalls, and examples. TinyFish Search discovers URLs; TinyFish Fetch extracts page content; an LLM synthesizes the guide.

Run it locally

RequiresNode.js 22
Paste into Claude Code, Cursor or any coding agent

Set up Self-Upgrading Skill Builder from the TinyFish Cookbook on my machine. 1. Clone https://github.com/tinyfish-io/tinyfish-cookbook.git and work in the `tinyskills` folder. 2. Check I have Node.js 22 installed. 3. Run `npm install`, then `cp .env.local.example .env.local`. 4. In `.env.local`, set `TINYFISH_API_KEY`, `OPENAI_API_KEY`, `OPENROUTER_API_KEY`. Ask me for each key; never invent one. 5. Start it with `npm run dev`. 6. When it is running, open http://localhost:3000 and tell me it is ready.

Why it is useful

Package repeated technical research into a reference your team and coding agents can reuse, with links back to the underlying material.
