What it does
Scout is a study copilot any college student can text on iMessage. It tracks homework from Canvas and from professors' own course websites, finds campus events, and watches for internships and jobs in any field. It texts you first when something matters, like a deadline or a new posting, and stays quiet otherwise.
Tapbacks are controls: a thumbs up marks a task done, a heart saves a posting or turns an event into a Google Calendar link, and a thumbs down hides postings from that company.
How it uses TinyFish
Search finds pages and fresh postings. Fetch crawls messy professor sites and events pages. The Agent opens real job postings and application forms, read only.
Run it locally
Set up Scout from the TinyFish Cookbook on my machine. 1. Clone https://github.com/arya-pradhan/Scout.git and work in the `tiny-fish-bounty` folder. 2. Check I have Node.js 22 installed. 3. Run `npm install`, then `npm run chat`, then `cp .env.example .env`. 4. In `.env`, set `TINYFISH_API_KEY`, `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY`, `PROJECT_ID`, `PROJECT_SECRET`, `ALLOWED_PHONES`. Ask me for each key; never invent one. 5. Start it with `npm run dev`. 6. Tell me when it is running.
