What it does

Openings is a job radar for students. Set your preferences once: role, internship or new grad, up to three cities including remote, class year, visa needs, keywords and companies to watch. It searches live job boards, reads every posting, and returns a ranked, deduplicated shortlist with apply links, term, pay, class years and visa status. Each rescan flags what is new.

How it uses TinyFish

Search finds live postings on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, one query per city and level.

Fetch reads postings ten at a time for location, pay, term and visa, and reads whole company boards for the watchlist in one call.

Agent opens portals that only work in a real browser and reads postings that need JavaScript. Runs are budgeted, and the dashboard shows the agent's live browser.

How to use it

Open the live app and choose Get started.

Enter something like Software engineer, Internship, New York and Remote, class of 2027, needs a visa, watching Figma and Notion.

The scan starts on its own, and the Run log tab shows each stage live.

Click a match to see why it ranked where it did, and check the Filtered out tab for what was dropped and why.

Run it locally

RequiresNode.js
Paste into Claude Code, Cursor or any coding agent

Set up Openings from the TinyFish Cookbook on my machine. 1. Clone https://github.com/NicolasDangg/job-portal-career-finders.git. 2. Check I have Node.js installed. 3. Run `cd job-portal-career-finders`, then `npm install`, then `cp .env.example .env.local`. 4. In `.env.local`, set `TINYFISH_API_KEY`. Ask me for each key; never invent one. 5. Start it with `npm run dev`. 6. When it is running, open http://localhost:3000 and tell me it is ready.

Why it is useful

Students waste hours checking the same boards. Openings does the checking, explains every ranking, and never treats a posting that does not mention visas as a no.
