How to Get $35 in Free AI Agent Credits as a Student

Every student with a school email can get $35 in their TinyFish wallet to build AI agents that search, read and act on real websites. It takes about two minutes, works in any country, and doesn't need a credit card.
This guide walks through claiming the $35 step by step, what to do if they don't show up, and how to turn them into your first project.
TL;DR
- Who qualifies: any student with a school or university email, in any country. Many international and K-12 school domains work, not just .edu.
- How to claim: sign up at tinyfish.ai/students with your school email and a password. The $35 is added to your TinyFish wallet automatically.
- The one mistake to avoid: don't sign up with GitHub, Google, Microsoft or X. Those sign-ups don't get the $35.
- What's next: sign in at tinybounties.com, claim a bounty, and build something that can earn you a gift card.
What can you use the $35 for?
TinyFish is a set of APIs that let AI agents use the live web. Your $35 wallet balance works across all of them:
- Search: fast, structured web search results.
- Fetch: read any page and pull out clean content.
- Agent: complete multi-step tasks on real websites, like filling forms or navigating sites.
- Browser: a real remote browser your agent can control, for sites that need clicks, logins or JavaScript.
- Monitor: watch pages and get notified when something changes.
The $35 comes on top of TinyFish's free Search and Fetch tier, so it goes further than it sounds.
Where can you use TinyFish?
You don't have to write code to start. TinyFish works inside the AI tools you already use:
- ChatGPT: add the TinyFish plugin in one tap (docs).
- Claude: add the TinyFish connector from the Claude directory (docs).
- Grok: install TinyFish from the Grok CLI marketplace (docs).
- Cursor, Codex, Claude Code and Windsurf: connect the TinyFish MCP server (docs), or give your coding agent the single-page TinyFish guide for coding agents.
- Your terminal: run automations with the TinyFish CLI.
- No-code workflows: use TinyFish as a node in n8n or a tool in Dify.
- Your own code: call the APIs directly. Start with the TinyFish docs.
Who can get the $35?
Anyone currently studying with a school email address, including:
- University and college students anywhere in the world
- Schools whose emails don't end in .edu (for example ac.uk, edu.au, ac.in and hundreds of school-specific domains)
You need to sign up with that school email. Accounts made with a personal email like Gmail can't receive the $35.
How to get $35 in your TinyFish wallet: step by step
Step 1: Go to the Students page
Open tinyfish.ai/students and click “Join the program”.

Step 2: Sign up with your school email and a password
Type the email your school gave you into the Email address box, click Continue, and choose a password. Skip the GitHub, Google, Microsoft and X buttons, even if your school email runs on Google or Microsoft. Those sign-ups skip the student check, so the $35 isn't added.

Step 3: Check your wallet
The $35 is added to your TinyFish wallet automatically. You'll see it in your dashboard right after signing up.
Step 4: Open your program dashboard
Go to tinybounties.com and sign in with the same TinyFish account. TinyBounties is your dashboard for everything in the Students Program: bounties, submissions, gift cards, events and your progress.
Step 5: Join the Discord
Join the TinyFish Discord and enter the access code from your welcome email to unlock the Student Program channels. Share what you build in #showcase and get help in #help.
What if my $35 didn't show up?
Most cases come down to one of four things:
| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| You signed up with GitHub, Google, Microsoft or X | Email community@tinyfish.ai with your school email and we'll sort it out |
| You signed up with a personal email (like Gmail) | Sign up again at tinyfish.ai/students with your school email and a password |
| Your school's email domain isn't recognised yet | Email community@tinyfish.ai with your name, school email and university, and we'll add your school |
| You signed up before the Students Program launched | Email community@tinyfish.ai and we'll check your account |
What can you build with $35?
The best student projects solve a real problem using live web data. A few that students have already built with TinyFish:
- A fake-sale detector that checks a product's price history on the Wayback Machine to prove whether a "was £200" discount is real. It won UCL Build Night.
- An internship tracker that finds, verifies and tracks real Summer 2027 SWE and AI internships. It won the Columbia AI Club workshop.
- A pub crawl planner that checks each pub's own website to prove it has what you want.
Need an idea? Every bounty on TinyBounties is a project brief, and approved builds earn a gift card and get published under your name. For a full list of other free student offers, see Free AI Credits for Students in 2026.
